I want. You're listening to B2B tech talk with ingram micro, the place to learn about new technology and technological advances before they become mainstream. This podcast is sponsored by the ingram Micro. One event dream of possibility craft the future and think of the things nobody else has. Our customers arrive as individuals but quickly become one. Let's get into it. Welcome to B two B tech talk with ingram Micro. I'm your host shall be scare hawk. And our guest today are Alyssa, Inter born senior solutions sales specialist for Anger Micro and Ron. Corley Solutions development strategist for ingram Micro. Alyssa and Ron. Welcome. Yeah, thank you so much. Nice to be here. So today we are talking about the one Lenovo booster program but Alyssa just set the stage here. Will you give us an overview of Lenovo's relationship with ingram Micro? Yeah, so starting kind of from the...

...beginning, I mean ingram Micro's a fortune 100 company with a global revenue exceeding $50 billion ingram Micro's developed a ton of strategic relationships with over 1700 vendor partners. Ingram and Lenovo have built an incredibly strong partnership together for over actually 15 years now We've been and continue to be one of Lenovo's largest global supply chain partners and technology providers in the channel. Throughout the 16 years of our relationship with Lenovo, we've made some really, really strong bonds with their organization. This allows us to leverage those longstanding relationships and connections with executives in our amazing vendor team to always find resolutions and solutions for our partners. And I mean additionally we've all taken on a better together strategy called one Lenovo. We're all coming together to combine efforts on both the I D G and I S G side of the Lenovo's business to create value for any and all types of partners. Transacting Ingram currently has are exclusive one Lenovo booster...

...program that services both sides of the business. And I look forward to getting into some of the details about it with you. Yeah, definitely. Well, so Ron tell us about that one maneuver booster and really, who is this program for? That's a great question. So to Alyssa's point, Lenovo and ingram's relationship is very, very deep and Lenovo is mostly known for their pc side of the business. However, Lenovo was involved in the data center side as well as the Motorola business. Lenovo owns that. So the booster program is aimed at uniting the ideas of all of the different opportunities that Lenovo can offer ingram partners in the partner community and some of the beautiful things about this type of introduction for Lenovo's data center side into Lenovo's client business are things like the tech talks with critique Patel, he's our technology consultant and he does a wonderful job at weaving in...

...strategy as well as technical configuration necessities to make solutions work for end users that way. They don't necessarily have to worry so much about what goes into the products or what goes into the solution and just focus on the outcome among the many different topics that he has? He brings in different types of guests like NVIDIA and intel and others to help promote the unity and the alliances that Lenovo has with those partners as well as ingram having with those partners. Excellent. And you know to be able to have that type of resource with a deep technical discussion is really valuable for for partners. So Elissa I don't understand specifically more about about the program. So Ron mentions the tech talk but I understand it includes some quarterly events and some monthly lunch and learns. Can you give us some specifics? Yeah. So we as a Lenovo partner have partnerships and...

...alliances with AMG Microsoft and intel just to continuously deliver the most up to date information that's trending in the industry personally, I love attending these lunch and learns because it keeps me on the top of my I. T. Game to say the least. I recommend attending these lunch and learns to all my partners and sales reps really just anyone in the channel as there's always something new being created or something new being announced. Um not to mention they're only 30 minutes. We've all attendees a $25 grubhub and whoever attends just one lunch and learn gets an invite to our quarterly event. So what's not to love about that? I mean the last one we had was with Jason Alexander. He was hilarious and we also got an amazing goody box on top of it. It was really great. I mean Ron do you want to talk about what you guys have had in the past as well? Yeah just add to that, the one before was with Shaun White and that experience was amazing. Also it was as if he was in the room and we were having a good conversation just like we're having now we got to learn a lot about his his journey and his transition from child...

...stardom stardom to where he is now in the business world. And that's an amazing story that we all have to make in one way shape or form. So these perks these events outside of the technical conversations at community level to what the boosters about all of us in that same room with those guests, enjoying those stories, creating that community and continuing to build on the foundation that Lenovo NEgro already have. So these these lunch and learns uh they're very different than those corporate, here's an overview of our HR strategy or HR policy or uh any of those more dry topics. This is more of a real tree, super laid back. Yeah this is really laid back, everyone's just kind of chatting, it's something nice to break up the day too. So yeah definitely. Yeah well so I also understand as part of the booster program, there's a try and buy demo program? Listen we tell us about that...

...and I guess why is that really helpful for I. D. G. Resellers. Yeah so I mean on the I. D. G. Side we have so many benefits and value adds for partners to take advantage of to really elevate their business. But this one is definitely one of my favorite value adds that we offer our partners because it's just really so unique. Are trying by demo program allows partners the hands on experience with our products without the risk of being stuck with a unit or a product that they dislike When enrolled in our Lenovo booster program, partners have the opportunity to have a unit shipped out to them or their end customer. They get to kind of mess around with it. Try it test it out for 30 days but they decide they don't like it and they want to return it, we'll go ahead and provide them with the means to do so no strings attached and free of charge. Open box returns are normally not allowed. So ingram is allowing, this is kind of evaluate for our partners and I like to have my partners use this for customers who may be skeptical or unsure of whether it's Lenovo as a vendor or certain processes or builds, seeing the products quality...

...and features firsthand normally wins over any customer Well. So let me ask you about that then because the this is a more unusual program to to be able to do, you said, you know, open box returns aren't normally available. I guess if you were to, if you put yourself in the resellers shoes and maybe explain specifically as if you were talking to that client, what would you say to them? So as I'm pitching this to my customers, I let them know that, hey, don't you have so many options out there, You have Del um HP. If you don't know what you're looking for, you don't know what you want, your end customers maybe more on the HP or Dell side things are so hard. Right now. Everything is constrained. There's so many delays with freight. You gotta, you gotta get what's out there and we have such a large amount of stock in coming to Lenovo's warehouses, why not test out a unit that you can get and that's readily available. So I use this as kind of a way to let end customers know you're not stuck with it. You know, we'll take it back, we'll take back...

...that product. And a lot of the times they get the specs that they need, they see the product they haven't in their hands, you know, and they love it and they don't return it. I think I've only had over the past couple years that we've had this type of program, one person ever return a unit. So it's it really is a game changer, especially in the I. T. Industry because again Lenovo does not allow open box returns. So this is a really great value add to kind of present to your own customers, definitely and that reassurance to make sure that you're making the right decision that that that is a value add. Exactly Ron are there any other perks that we haven't maybe mentioned? And uh I guess tell us about that sign up process. So, great question Shelly, most of the booster members are interested in selling I D G and I S. G. So one of the first things that our team does once we we get new members is reach out to those members, understand what their goals are from an organizational standpoint and set up things like quarterly business reviews where we can help back them into ways to earn more money from back in rebates...

...through Lenovo's I. S. G programs and this is a way to smoothly transition them into selling more I S. G. And really earning more from the booster program as well as getting them familiar with all of the offerings that Lenovo has and letting them take advantage of some of those Great back in rebates. The best way to sign up though to become part of the booster program um is to go to imagine next dot ingram micro dot com backslash Lenovo hyphen booster hyphen program. And so I'm gonna give that to you again. I know it's a lot. Um Imagine next all one word dot ingram micro dot com backslash, Lenovo hyphen booster hyphen program. Excellent. Well so as we start to wrap up our episode we always ask our guests the same final question and that's where do you see technology going in the next year? This doesn't...

...have to be specific within this topic that we've discussed. It can be on a larger, larger basis or you know something maybe you're personally interested in that you've been following and might want to expand on. So let's I'll start with you. So um currently we have an increasingly capable robotic and Ai systems that can take on tasks that were previously done by humans and I feel this is going to be something that's going to continuously increase and be more utilized especially when it comes to software and services on our hardware devices to kind of allow more hands off and relax experience for our customers. I mean the advances in Ai and automation will continue to reduce dependence on human labor for those subjective tasks and make transactions easier for every party involved. Secondly, I do think teleworking I think we all know we can agree it's here to stay and will continue to rise in 2022. All vendors and companies will really need to be able to support the hybrid workforce And make sure that...

...they have the capabilities and resources so that their workforces productive. Online meetings and sales calls are really the new normal and we'll need to keep evolving. Yeah I think we have adopted this with with some some force and I think you're right. I think it is here to stay. And how about you? I agree. 100% with well, Alyssa satisfied as the artificial intelligence and that aspect and infiltration into everything that we do. And I think that actually brings Alyssa's work and my work closer together because Ai will be the bond between the data that's in the back of the house and the data that endpoint or end users need in the front of the house or wherever they are in the field. And so the more we work together and the more our customers work with us through the booster program and through other ways that that we're putting forth one Lenovo, the closer to that journey that they're going to be And the at the forefront of that technology...

...are those customers and those partner is going to be definitely well, so if our listeners do want to find out more about what we talked about today besides some of those links that Ron gave that will have also in the show notes, how can we, how can we reach out Melissa. Yeah. So we can have partners either reach out to Ron or myself.
